Making children smile is one of the best feelings in the world. Ryan Seacrest and Camila Cabello managed to do this and much more at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. They made dreams come true.
When the famous singer and TV show host visited young patients during an event hosted by the non-profit organization, The Ryan Seacrest Foundation, they were greeted with great, big smiles. It was a happy day for everyone; Seacrest looked especially cheerful while hugging his sister, Meredith Seacrest, who is the executive director of The Ryan Seacrest Foundation.
Cabello surprised the kids at Seacrest Studios by singing one of her popular hits for a crowd of young and amazed fans. The popular singer took photos with the kids and shared the special moments at the hospital with Seacrest and the children she met there. Ryan thanked her for this visit on Instagram: “A really special day at @ChildrensPhila #SeacrestStudios! Thanks for surprising the kids @Camila_Cabello :)”
The Ryan Seacrest Foundation is built on the idea that kids need to be entertained while they’re staying at the hospital. They need to be themselves and be happy again, especially because they are going through a tough time.
“The Ryan Seacrest Foundation does a beautiful thing for the kids in Philly’s Children’s Hospital. Kids that are being treated at the hospital get to be themselves, express their dreams and voices, and have something fun to look forward to so they don’t feel defined by what’s going on in their lives at this moment,” the singer wrote in the caption on Instagram.
During the visit, Ryan took Cabello to Seacrest Studios, his foundation’s broadcast media center at the hospital in the City of Brotherly Love. Camila was in town to perform as part of Taylor Swift’s “Reputation” Stadium Tour. And once again, Ryan Seacrest used his popularity to bring joy to kid’s lives – he invited the “Havana” singer and she was happy to spend some time with the children who needed fun the most.
The Ryan Seacrest Foundation
The Ryan Seacrest Foundation or RSF is a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring children through entertainment and education focused initiatives. The show business shouldn’t be reserved for the adults only, and Ryan Seacrest does everything he can to share the best of it with these kids.
The Foundation’s first initiative was to build broadcast media centers, named Seacrest Studios. The studios were built within pediatric hospitals for patients to explore the exciting worlds of radio, television and new media. The goal of The Ryan Seacrest Foundation is to contribute positively to the healing process for children and their families during their stay at the hospital.
The media centers are aiming to bring an uplifting spirit to the hospital community by giving children the access to multimedia experiences which takes young patients to new and exciting adventures! The media centers also encourage optimistic thinking during the treatments, which is equally important.
Also, The Ryan Seacrest Foundation is reaching out to the community and involving more students from local journalism schools. The foundation provides students with the opportunity to obtain first-hand experience in broadcasting, but also, programming and operating a multimedia center. It’s a wonderful new opportunity for everyone who’s involved.
But most of all, the foundation is taking care of children’s hearts, bodies and minds by giving them fun activities, positive music, games and competitions in the Ryan Seacrest studio. “Seeing their smiles, their spirit, and their positivity only makes it clearer to me that the most valuable lessons we can learn come from kids,” Camila explained.
Cabello also had the chance to hear a conversation between parents of a little girl at the hospital and Ryan. The parents told the American Idol host how much the foundation helped their daughter.
“Instead of talking about doctors and treatments, she was talking about how excited she was for the next karaoke competition at the studio downstairs,” Cabello wrote. “So thankful for foundations like these that make lives so much better, so thankful for kids like these – with so much talent, spunk, knowledge, and spirit in spite of their everyday battles.”
Seacrest Studios have drawn many high-profile visiting artists, including Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Nick Jonas, Carrie Underwood, Shawn Mendes, Britney Spears, Usher and now Camila. It goes without saying that this list is only getting bigger and bigger, just like the smiles on the children’s faces.
